Yacht information and compliance management

31 May 2008

Imagine a service that solves a major problem in mega yacht ownership and operation - information and compliance management.

Tom Patterson and Alan Ritchie have teamed up to develop Yacht Record, an on-board and online software management service for yachts. They have assembled a team with broad and deep experience in yacht building, software development, healthcare and automotive industries to bring best practices to the yachting industry. Furthermore, their success with previous companies brings the financial strength needed to support this great service. They will introduce their unique system to the industry at the American Superyacht Forum in Newport, Rhode Island on June 24.

Yacht Record organizes yacht information - manuals, logs, inventory, photos, drawings, schematics, etc. - into a user friendly system that can be accessed from anywhere via the Internet. 'All your yachtís information in one place,' said Founder and CEO Patterson. 'Safe, secure and accessible, it is as simple as that.'

'We are fortunate to have such a strong management team including our Co-founder and Managing Director, Dr. Kirstin Tong,' said Yacht Record President Alan Ritchie. 'She brings best practices from the automotive industry and she will head up our European operations next year when she returns to her native country, Germany,' he added.

After obtaining a B.S. and Masterís Degree in mechanical engineering, Tom Patterson served in the U.S. Navy as an aircraft and missile systems program manager. His career includes founding and running three successful software companies as well as a lifelong commitment to building and sailing custom boats.

With over 18 years of executive management experience in entrepreneurial companies, Alan Ritchie has also served as the Co-Founder, President or Chief Executive Officer of four successful software and healthcare technology firms. Most recently, he was an Operating Partner of New Capital Partners 2002 venture capital fund.

Kirstin Tong, Ph.D. serves as Managing Director of Yacht Record. She has over 10 years of experience in integrated supply chain management and was the founder of QMARK, a service company providing consulting and logistics software for automotive products manufacturers such as Mercedes, Honda, and Cadillac.
