Locarama To Distribute Jellyfish Protection Pools In France

19 August 2008

Unique portable Cool-Swim Boat Pools protect Med swimmers from jellyfish stings

In response to the growth of the jellyfish population in the Mediterranean Sea over the last several years, A Fresh Tack, LLC, the US-based manufacturer of jellyfish protection pools, has appointed Locarama of Cannes as its exclusive distributor in France. The unique, portable mesh pools, which can be used off a boat or dock, will be marketed in France as Cool-Swim Boat Pools.

Available in 8 foot (2.5 meters), 12 foot (3.6 meters) and 20 foot (6 meters) diameters (20 foot/6 meter pool pictured left), the eight foot (2.5 meter) deep pools inflate and launch in minutes and store compactly when not in use.

The rugged Cool-Swim flotation ring is made of the same composite fabric used in aircraft life vests and life boats. When inflated, the ring has sufficient buoyancy to support the weight of people without becoming submerged anywhere along its length. It is buoyant and rigid enough that it remains circular and totally afloat, even in boat wakes. The netting material is attached to the flotation ring to form a continuous protective barrier, completely around and below. The mesh is small enough to bar stinging jellyfish, but open enough to allow water to move freely through it without acting like a sail or parachute. It will resist years of wear and tear.
