Royal Gourock clubhouse.

Founded in 1894, Royal Gourock Yacht Club can trace an illustrious history back through the glory days of Clyde yachting. With a tradition-steeped clubhouse on Gourock's Ashton shore, commanding an impressive view of the mid firth racing area and its own hideously exposed moorings, it was not so long ago that many of the top Clyde racing yachts had RGYC on their transoms. The club's racing activities these days centre on one design dayboats with the strongest surviving Clyde fleet of Loch Long One Designs although through the season the extensive mooring area is filled with yachts and handicap racing continues.
